Net-TV A7 Review (As an End-user)

We have recently received our first sample batch of Net-TV boxes from our Factory. Many of you may ask this question. What in the world does a Net-TV do? Does it provides TV program over the internet?

The answer is yes, however, the version we are reviewing is the A7 Model which comes with an AV Input (For composite cables) and an BNC Input (For CCTV).

A7 Inputs / Features

A7 model is designed for receiving an AV input like your SCV Setup box using composite cable and another input for a Single Unit of CCTV installation. What you get is a simple home surveillance and "slingbox solo" equivalent features all in 1 nifty little box and view them using your mobile devices wherever and whenever you want!

The Net-TV allows you to record the CCTV using a built-in scheduler and does a playback by downloading the files from an external hard drive connected to the Net-TV. As the format is in .AVI, you can playback in most common players if you want.

The Remotes

Both the physical and virtual remotes that we received does not have the common colored buttons for the setup boxes we see in most remotes. However, the virtual remotes will be upgraded over the next 1-2 months so that users can customised their remotes to be used for the setup boxes.

Net-TV's virtual remote control have a programmable IR Table feature that allows users to teach the box the remote commands from different remote controls. Users will be able to educate the box so that they can change the channels on the setup boxes over the internet. (We have successfully program the box to control the Starhub SCV Boxes in Singapore)

Viewing Options

So, how do you view the contents from the Net-TV? You can download the FREE Mobile APPS called the Net-TV Mobile2 from the iPhone APP Store or Android's PLAY Store respectively, and YES, you read the lines correctly, its FREE. Or download the MAC or Windows Player via a link on the setup guide. You can every view the contents over your TV (using COMPOSITE Cable) by purchasing an additional box called the A6 receiver box.

How many viewers can view the contents at one time?

Well, there are 2 inputs on the Net-TV A7, so you can have 2 users being able to login and view each input at the same time. Put it simple, if user A views the AV input (SCV program), user B will be directed over to view the CCTV CAM input. If both inputs are being viewed at the same time, the box will reject further connection.
